The SELP28135G is a powerful zoom lens designed to meet the professional optical and operational needs of capturing high-quality images in film production, including 4K, when paired with a 35mm camera such as the a7S or a Super 35mm camcorder such as the PXW-FS7*. Focus breathing and image shift during zooming have been minimized, while aspherical elements and advanced multi-layer coating technology effectively eliminate aberrations. Another priority is quiet operation, achieved through the adoption of the SSM (Super Sonic wave Motor) drive system for precise, silent zooming. For the first time in an E-Mount lens, three independent rings with physical stops are available for zoom, focus, and aperture. The built-in Optical SteadyShot image stabilization technology complements the outstanding performance of this exceptional lens, which supports a constant F4 aperture.

Three independent control rings
For the first time, a single lens features three independent control rings for zoom, focus, and aperture. Additionally, you can switch the focus mode from automatic to manual simply by sliding the focus ring forward, giving you complete control. Zoom speed can be precisely controlled over a wide range, with the ability to reverse the zoom rotation direction. All three control rings have been designed to provide ideal torque for extremely responsive operation and maximum comfort. Even the ring’s knurling has been designed to offer comfortable and secure control.
Quiet Operation
The lens is equipped with an SSM (Super Sonic wave Motor) drive system to perform zooming precisely and silently. Focusing noise has been minimized by reducing the weight of the focus group and driving it with a responsive linear motor.
