Working in real time, the latest-generation BIONZ XR™ image processing engine takes full advantage of the performance of the three 1/2-inch Exmor R® 4K CMOS image sensors. Full-pixel readout enables the highest-quality 4K60p video images, faithfully capturing even the finest details and textures in the scene.
Advanced AI Processing Unit for AF
The dedicated AI processing unit enables accurate human subject recognition based on their anatomical structure, posture, and other information. It can recognize subjects even when their back is turned to the camera or when their faces are not visible, such as when they are wearing masks. It can reliably recognize even people who appear small due to their distance from the camera and in situations where their faces are tilted away from the camera, in shadow, or backlit. Additionally, the PXW-Z300 can automatically adjust composition to keep human subjects centered in the frame. An advanced ATW (Auto Tracing White Balance) function helps ensure natural-looking white balance.
Three 1/2-type back-illuminated 4K Exmor R® CMOS image sensors
Designed for production and news, the three 1/2-type Exmor R® CMOS image sensors capture exceptionally detailed and lifelike images with a deep depth of field and a resolution of 3840 x 2160 (H x V) effective pixels. The high sensitivity of F12* is complemented by exceptional color reproduction and a wide dynamic range with very low noise for superb video recording, both in 4K and Full HD.
Intuitive fingertip operation
Three independent rings allow you to adjust focus, zoom, and aperture with your fingertips without taking your eye off the scene. End-of-rotation stops facilitate intuitive operation with a tactile feel for the ring's position. The focus ring also slides forward or backward for instant switching between autofocus and full manual focus.
17x optical zoom for a wide field of view
Capture everything from wide-angle interviews in tight spaces to detailed telephoto close-ups. The 17x optical zoom lens offers a wide focal length range from 30.3 to 515 mm (35 mm full-frame equivalent) with a constant maximum aperture of F1.9 throughout the zoom range. The digital extender* increases the maximum magnification up to 4x in HD, maintaining image quality close to the original.
Flexible LCD arm adapts to any situation
The flexible LCD arm allows flexible adjustment of viewing angles during shooting. It can be positioned at the front of the lens for easy viewing when shoulder-mounted, or aligned with the optical axis of the lens to accommodate different shooting styles.
The high-brightness LCD monitor is visible even in very bright environments.
The 3.5-inch LCD monitor with Mini LED backlight and approximately 2.76 million pixels allows for precise focusing and shot confirmation even in bright environments with strong ambient light.
Side V-mount for easy attachment of accessories
The versatile V-mount on the side allows for a smooth, integrated shooting setup. It's easy to attach or detach devices such as the PDT-FP1 Portable Data Transmitter (sold separately), smartphones, mobile battery, audio receiver, or other third-party accessories via a 1/4 screw adapter.
