Il DB9000-TX è un codificatore Audio over IP multiprotocollo, funzionante con audio analogico o digitale. La compressione del segnale viene eseguita in tempo reale, utilizzando l'encoder HE-AAC o MPEG-1 Layer 3 e trasmessa tramite rete basata su TCP/IP a uno o più decoder. Per garantire una trasmissione audio senza perdita di qualità, DB9000-TX supporta anche un flusso PCM non compresso.

The DB9000-TX can simultaneously act as an Icecast-compatible server, Icecast source client, or Real Time Protocol (RTP) sender. Via the RS-232 port, the DB9000-TX can be transformed from Ethernet to Serial Redirector, enabling control of any other existing equipment over the Internet. The DB9000-TX enables rapid integration of existing audio systems over the Internet. In addition, the unit can be managed via a standard Web browser and UPnP for easy connection via local networks. Android and iOS devices are also supported.
